Bernhard Osann

Bernhard Osann is a German designer with extensive experience in sculpture and design. After training as an apprentice carpenter at the School of Wood and Design, he spent several years working as a freelance carpenter, before going on to study sculpture at Wilhelm Wagenfeld School in Bremen. In 2016, he graduated from the University of Fine Arts Hamburg with a diploma. Since completing his education, Bernhard Osann has been working as a freelance industrial designer, working with international brands such as Nemo Lighting and Ilti Luce.

Bernhard Osann’s designs are often understated, with a stripped-back, simplistic aesthetic. He strives to find unconventional solutions to simplify products, playing with laws of physics and geometric shapes to create innovative, dynamic objects that often feature interactive elements to instil a sense of fun and playfulness. Throughout his career, Bernhard Osann has won numerous awards, including the Wallpaper Award, Pure Talents Contest, and Best of Design Plus.
