Daniel To and Emma Aiston

Daniel To and Emma Aiston are collaborators and cofounders of the design studio Daniel Emma, established due to their shared love of objects that can tell a story. Both designers grew up in Adelaide and studied Industrial Design before moving to the United Kingdom, where they resided in London. Whilst in London, they worked at a range of studios where they developed their skills. For over 10 years, Daniel To and Emma Aiston were Creative Directors at JamFactory, where they worked alongside people to tell their stories.

Eventually, the duo returned home to Australia, where they opened their design practice and began collaborating with a variety of brands across the globe, including HAY, Petite Friture, Aark and COS. Daniel To and Emma Aiston are inspired by daily life in Adelaide, as well as the vibrant colours and material combinations found in cities like Hong Kong and Tokyo. Every piece of theirs explores contrasts in colour, textures and shapes and they work with people and brands across the world, from designing furniture and lighting to accessories, experiences and creative direction. The work of Daniel To and Emma Aiston has been recognised through numerous awards, and they are known for their love of wanting to delve into the unknown.
