Pernille Arlien-Søborg

Pernille Arlien-Søborg is a Copenhagen designer who studied Spatial Design at the Royal Danish Academy and founded her studio in 2008. Her work is mainly focused on hospitality interiors, including restaurants, hotels and workspaces, with light, materials, sound and texture all playing a part in how each space feels.

Her approach begins with the identity of a place and the feeling it should evoke, working across light, materials, sound, and texture. Rather than treating interiors as static compositions, Arlien-Søborg considers them settings for experience and interaction, shaped through the relationship between objects, surfaces, and people.

For Audo Copenhagen, Pernille Arlien-Søborg designed the Admiral Portable Lamp, originally developed for Copenhagen’s Admiral Hotel to create softer, more intimate light around the dining table. Her work is particularly suited to restaurants, hotels, workspaces, and other interiors where atmosphere and interaction form part of the experience.
