Pierre Favresse is a French designer, born in Brittany in 19799. He trained in the arts and crafts at the École Boulle, where he specialised in cabinetmaking and marquetry, and later graduated in furniture design from the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs (ENSAD) in Paris. After five years of collaboration with Mathieu Lehanneur as a designer and agency director, he founded his own studio in 2010.
Favresse believes that design is first and foremost a human language: a means of moving, transforming and revealing the poetry of reality, in order to invent the forms of a fairer and more sensitive world. He is passionate about craftsmanship and innovation, and has a unique approach to his work, rooted in materials, precision of gesture, elegance of design, and emotion. Pierre Favresse's work is part of a search for accuracy and silent beauty, a balance between simplicity and complexity, a constant dialogue between hand and material, craftsmanship and technology, rigour and poetry.
"I've always been drawn to creation; there's something about the smell of wood and the way materials can tell a story that clicks with me." - Pierre Favresse
