Studio Shulab was founded by Kfir Schwalb and Orit Magia in 2005. The duo both grew up in Israel and met at Bezalel Academy of Design and Arts in Jerusalem, where they were studying Design. When working on designs, the duo explores the relationship between material, form, and everyday life. They draw inspiration from architecture and natural forms to create pieces that balance function with a strong sense of character. Each project begins with curiosity and a desire to understand materials and processes.
At the heart of Studio Shulab’s approach is a belief in design as a way of creating meaningful products. They work across disciplines and scales, embracing experimentation while maintaining a commitment to simplicity. Rather than following fleeting trends, Studio Shulab seeks to develop work with longevity, designed to reveal its qualities over time and bring a quiet sense of beauty to everyday life. The works of Studio Shulab have been widely published and have featured in several international exhibitions.
“The right design solution can materialise in many different forms.” – Studio Shulab
