The Birdy Table Lamp was designed by Birger Dahl. It makes up part of the Birdy series that includes a floor lamp, short wall light, and swing wall light. Originally released in 1952, this collection was produced and sold by the Norwegian electricity company Sønnico. In 1954, the table lamp, then known as “s-30016,” was awarded a Golden Medal at the Milan Triennale. In 2013, Northern Lighting re-launched The Birdy, allowing the popular series to be available once more to collectors of classic Nordic design.
The clean lines of The Birdy Table Lamp create a sleek profile, allowing the lamp to fit in with contemporary interiors, despite its expensive history. The adjustable head is perfect for functional lighting on an office desk or coffee table. Available in a range of muted tones, each version is equipped with a black cable, except for the white finish, which has a white cable.
