Vitra Akari 3AD Lamp

A soft yet striking luminaire, the Vitra Akari 3AD draws inspiration from the form of traditional Japanese lanterns and is crafted from washi paper, by hand in the Ozeki workshop in Gifu. This handcrafted, Japanese-inspired light has a stunning mid-century feel, an unusual silhouette and a bold colour palette. Often used in living rooms and dining areas, the Akaria 3AD can easily adapt to a wide variety of spaces.

The Akari 3AD is much like the Akari 3A, with similar dimensions and form, but differentiating with its unique black and orange pattern, granting a deeper look into Japanese style. Each 3AD is finished with a sun and moon logo, guaranteeing authenticity to the owner and resembling their Japanese heritage. The Japanese word "Akari" is translated to "light", a link to the goal of the entire collection, as the whole collection can be characterised by every light's weightless luminosity.
