Hansandfranz

Designer duo Konstantin Landuris and Horst Wittmann founded the design studio Hansandfranz in 2006. The name Hansandfranz reflects the pair’s playful and lighthearted humour, as they believe that “Wittmann Landuri's design studio” would be too serious for them. Since establishing their studio, Landuris and Wittmann have attracted international attention, with their Troy lamp awarded a "Special Mention" at the Design Report Award, and the three-legged lamp “Three” earning the duo an invitation to New York for the International Contemporary Furniture Fair ICFF.

As well as lighting, the duo also designs furniture, homeware, and experimental art pieces. They believe in creating their designs by hand instead of using computers. For lighting brand KDLN, Hansandfranz created the Kyudo Floor Lamp, a grand luminaire inspired by Zen philosophy. Balancing functional lighting with personable design, the Kyudo perfectly showcases the studio's alternative approach to design.
