Marset Funiculi Fabric Floor Lamp

Marset Funiculi Fabric Floor Lamp is an adjustable floor lamp by Lluís Porqueras, based on a design he originally conceived in 1979. The fabric version was introduced by Marset in 2018, keeping the simple construction of the original Funiculí while replacing its metal shade with a conical fabric diffuser. The black lacquered iron structure provides a contrast to the lighter shade, which allows some of the light to pass through the fabric rather than directing it all downwards.

The shade can be moved up and down the central stem, allowing the height of the light to be adjusted depending on where the lamp is placed. Beside a sofa or armchair, it can be positioned for reading, while the fabric shade also provides a softer light for evenings in the living room or bedroom. The design is available with a White or Sand shade, both paired with the same black structure. The Sand version has a warmer appearance, while White gives the lamp a lighter, more neutral finish.

Funiculi Fabric Floor Lamp is plug-in, with a black electrical cable and an in-line on/off switch. Its iron base is wrapped in black rubber, and the fabric shade is made from polyester with a PVC-PET laminated film. The wider Funiculi Fabric range also includes matching table and wall lamps, allowing the same design to be used in different parts of a room. Most suited to living rooms, bedrooms, reading corners, lounges, hotel rooms, and interiors where a height-adjustable floor lamp can provide both reading light and softer background illumination.
