Marset Funiculi S Fabric Table Lamp

Marset Funiculi S Fabric Table Lamp is an adjustable table lamp by Lluís Porqueras, based on a fabric shade design he first conceived in 1979. Marset introduced this version in 2018, retaining the simple iron structure of the original Funiculi but replacing its metal shade with a conical fabric diffuser. The fabric allows light to pass through the shade as well as directing it downwards, giving the lamp a softer appearance and a more diffused output than the original metal version.

The shade can be moved up and down the central stem using the lamp's clip mechanism, allowing the height of the light to be adjusted by hand. On a bedside table, it can be lowered for reading or raised to spread more light around the surrounding area. The fabric shade also makes Funiculi useful on side tables, shelves, and small desks, where a softer light may be preferable to a fully directional task lamp. Its slim black structure keeps the design simple, while the rubber-wrapped base provides a stable footing.

Funiculi S Fabric is available with a White or Sand shade, both paired with a black lacquered iron structure. The lamp is plug-in, with a black electrical cable and an in-line on/off switch. The wider Funiculi Fabric range also includes matching floor and wall lamps, allowing the same fabric shade to be used throughout a room. Most suited to bedrooms, bedside tables, living rooms, side tables, reading corners, lounges, hotel rooms, and interiors where an adjustable table lamp can provide warm, diffused light.
